About Mark
Mark Cason is a proud San Antonio Veteran that graduated with honors from James Madison High School in 1984. He was the first receipt of the Superintendents Award recognizing All-Around student achievement. Mark earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing Management in 1988 from McMurry University.
In 2001, at the age of 35, Mark enlisted in the United States Navy after his father lost his battle with service related cancer. His first duty station was at Submarine Base Bangor, WA, where he was assigned to the Auxiliary Security Forces which supported patrolling operations in the Hood Canal, protecting it from any foreign threats. In 2003, Mark graduated top of his class System Administrator “C” school as a Naval Interior Communications System Administrator. Mark completed three deployments in support of the USS Kitty Hawk CV-63 in Yokosuka, Japan. His final duty station was Naval Air Station Corpus Christi. Mark was honorably discharged in 2010.
After military service, Mark has continued his quest for providing community assistance, representing: Child Protective Services, Regional Director with AT&T Wireless, Workforce Solutions, the American GI forum, and Texas Veterans Commission as a Veteran Employer Liaison. Currently, Mark is employed as a Veterans Resource & Referral Specialists with the Texas Veterans Leadership Program connecting Veterans with the resources; tools they need to maximize their opportunities!
Mark is the proud father of three sons who have all honorably served in the Military, one in the Marines and two in the Army. Mark is a member of the City of San Antonio Veterans Advisory Commission, Jacqueline Smith Foundation, The KEY Community, Purple UP USA, San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo Hospitality Committee, American Legion, VFW, AMVETS, DAV, Wounded Warriors Project, and the NAACP.
